Arrowwood Heart is seeking a Technical Artist to join our team in Minneapolis, MN. This full-time, remote position offers an exciting opportunity to bridge the gap between art and technology in the retail industry.

As a Technical Artist at Arrowwood Heart, you will be responsible for developing and optimizing digital assets, building tools, and ensuring that visual content meets both creative and technical standards. You'll collaborate with designers, developers, and product teams to deliver immersive and engaging experiences that elevate our retail brand.

We offer a competitive salary range of $72,000 - $156,000 per year, along with a remote-first work culture and opportunities for professional development.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain technical tools and pipelines for art asset creation
  • Optimize 3D models, textures, and visual assets for performance and quality
  • Collaborate with artists and developers to ensure seamless integration of assets
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to rendering and asset pipelines
  • Create and document workflows, best practices, and technical guidelines
  • Assist in implementing shaders, materials, and visual effects
  • Support the team with rigging, animation, and asset import/export processes
  • Stay up to date with emerging technologies and tools relevant to the retail and digital content space

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Digital Arts, Game Development, or a related field
  • Basic understanding of 3D software such as Maya, Blender, or 3ds Max
  • Familiarity with game engines such as Unity or Unreal Engine
  • Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python or C#
  • Strong understanding of art fundamentals including color, lighting, and composition
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment
  • A portfolio demonstrating technical art skills and creative problem-solving
