Job Description

OUR MISSION

Movement School is a growing network of free, public charter schools. We exist to love and value scholars and communities by leading a movement of excellence in education. In partnership with our families, we equip our scholars with the tools to close generational gaps through self-efficacy, access to world-class instruction, and financial education.

ABOUT THIS ROLE

A Focused, High-Impact Assignment for an Experienced Educator.

Movement South Fulton is seeking a certified teacher for a short-term, 2-week contract position to administer the Georgia Kindergarten Inventory of Developing Skills (GKIDS) Readiness Check to incoming Kindergarten scholars at the start of the 2026–2027 school year.

The GKIDS Readiness Check is a Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE) mandated beginning-of-year (BOY) screener that assesses entry-level readiness skills of incoming Kindergarteners across three domains: Foundations of School Success, English Language Arts, and Mathematics. This assessment is conducted one-on-one with each scholar and is observational and performance-based in nature.

Your sole focus will be administering the screener accurately, consistently, and efficiently — no lesson planning, grading, or classroom management required.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Administer the GKIDS Readiness Check one-on-one to incoming Kindergarten scholars during the designated beginning-of-year testing window

  • Assess scholars across the three GKIDS domains: Foundations of School Success (approaches to learning, social-emotional, and motor skills), English Language Arts (early literacy and language skills), and Mathematics (numeracy, shapes, and counting)

  • Record and document scholar responses accurately using the GaDOE-approved GKIDS platform and protocols

  • Follow all standardized administration procedures as defined by the Georgia Department of Education

  • Coordinate with the campus testing coordinator to maintain efficient scheduling and flow of scholars

  • Handle all scholar assessment data with confidentiality in compliance with FERPA

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

You will be a great fit for this role if you are:

  • A certified educator with experience working with young children, particularly Kindergarten age

  • Comfortable working one-on-one with young scholars in a warm and patient manner

  • Detail-oriented and accurate in recording and documenting assessment results

  • Familiar with early childhood development and Kindergarten-level skills

  • Able to follow standardized testing protocols with consistency and care

  • A clear communicator who works well within a school team

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Valid Georgia educator certification required

  • Prior experience working with Kindergarten or early childhood-age students strongly preferred

  • Familiarity with the GKIDS Readiness Check or similar early childhood assessments preferred — training will be provided

  • Strong attention to detail and accurate record-keeping skills

  • Successful completion of GBI and FBI fingerprint background clearance required

COMPENSATION & SCHEDULE

  • Pay Rate: $40.00 per hour

  • Employment Type: Part-Time, Short-Term Contract (approximately 2 weeks)

  • Duration: Beginning of Year (BOY) testing window — 2025–2026 school year

  • Schedule: School day hours, Monday through Friday during the testing window

  • Location: Movement South Fulton, South Fulton, GA
